The Beginning After The End Wiki

Adam Krensh is an Adventurer, and a member of the Twin Horns Party. Adam was unique among his merry band of swashbucklers for having no elemental affinity. Adam was tragically killed in the line of duty, saving Helen's life in the process.

Appearance[]

Adam is fairly good-looking and has bright red hair tied in a messy poof at its end, with his bangs escaping from the tie. His eyes are bright and seems to always be laughing. But his most noticeable feature is a scar across his nose, that reached both cheeks.[1] The scar isn't from an adventurer battle but rather from a woman at a bar, but he will claim otherwise.[2]

Personality[]

Adam is the most rambunctious of his party, acting mischievous, aggressive, impulsive, and care-free with a love for pulling pranks on his friends. He is energetic and talkative, with a big mouth to go with it. Most people would say he has no filter, as he will always say what comes to mind, however he does not do this out of malice. When the situation demands it, Adam can be the most serious member of his team, especially during a fight. His most defining trait is his selflessness as he was shown to prioritize his friends over his own wellbeing. This is made especially apparent after Adam sacrificed himself to save Helen from an ambush. Adam above all else was ambitious as despite not gaining an elemental affinity, he pursued strength and adventure with a fiery passion. His unbreakable will was so strong that Reynolds believed his soul would continue to strive for adventure.

Background[]

During his Adventurer career, Adam formed the Twin Horns Party, along with Durden Walker, Angela Rose, and Helen Shard. The group would soon after recruit Reynolds Leywin, who was appointed the group's leader for his years of adventuring experience, and not long after that, the group would welcome Rey's wife Alice as the party's healer. They were later joined by another famous augmenter named Lensa, who proved to be just as rambunctious as Adam. On one evening, while stationed at the Xyrus branch of the Adventurer's Guild, Adam and Reynolds argued over Rey's inept sense of time to meet at the guild to which Rey mocked Adam over losing his desperate need for beauty sleep, leading to the two to roughhouse, while Helen spoke with and recruited rookie Adventurer Jasmine Flamesworth.

On one unfortunate day, the Twin Horns were met with tragedy as Lensa, was struck by poison during a mission that left her unable to use magic. Afterwards, against the wishes of Reynolds and the Twin Horns, Lensa went into a dungeon despite being unable to use magic, because she wanted to die an 'honorable death'. Reynolds and Alice soon after retired from being Adventurer's and settled in Ashber Town after giving birth to their son Arthur Leywin, and Helen took over as the party's leader.

Abilities & Skills[]

Adam is an experienced Adventurer, having fought countless battles and survived ferocious beasts. His strength is shown to be on par with that of Reynolds, albeit more agile and precise in combat as opposed to Reynolds close quarters combat style of fighting. Adam is also quite perceptive, as he is capable of sensing his surroundings for any immanent danger, as well as analyze his opponents and how best to fight them (ironic given that he cannot read the room most of the time.)

Augmenter: Adam is an augmenter mage, therefore someone who can use magic within their bodies to enhance their attacks, but at the same time also able to shoot out magic after reaching a certain level. While he is the only member of his team to lack an elemental affinity, Adam is more than capable of mana manipulation, as he is capable of reinforcing himself and his weapon with mana, not to mention increase his speed for faster more calculating attacks.

Spearmanship: Adam utilizes a spear in combat, and is more than proficient in utilizing it. His fighting style resembles a snake with his flexible maneuvers and sudden attacks, indicating Adam has the potential to become one of the rare augmenters with a water-attribute style. By reinforcing the shaft of his spear for flexibility, his attacks appear as though they were a storm of quick thrusts and fluid swipes.[3]

Quotes[]

  • (To Reynolds): "Haven't taught him him how to fight,' my ass! How the hell did you train this little monster?" [4]

  • (To Reynolds): “Babysitting doesn't really fit my style, so I'll pass on this. Besides, with my personality, I feel like Arthur might kill me in my sleep one day.” [5]

Notes & Trivia[]

  • Adam is ranked 16th in the comic's character popularity poll, receiving 197 votes.[6]
  • While it is never outright said, given his years of experience and the Twin Horns relatively being similar in power, (with the exception of Jasmine Flamesworth) Adam is speculated to be at least a B-Rank Adventurer, with his mana core speculated to be at least orange.
