Alice Leywin is the the wife of Reynolds Leywin and the mother of their children Arthur Leywin and Eleanor Leywin. She is also a former proctor, adventurer and a member of the Twin Horns Party.
After the unfortunate death of Adam Krensh, Reynolds and Alice both decide to actively join the war against Alacrya, much to Arthur's frustration.[1] They start by transporting goods between the Wall and Blackbend, but eventually, they, along with the Twin Horns, are stationed at the Wall in preperation for a large horde of mana beasts approaching. Reynolds is in the infantry and supposed to join the battlefield on the ground, along with Durden, while Alice is stationed as a medic. Arthur meets with his parents before the clash, but it end with an argument, as Arthur does not want his parents to put themselves in harms way.[2] Later on, the mana beast horde arrive earlier than expected, and the senior captain of the Wall, Trodius, goes against the plan Arthur had devised, causing a massive loss of life. Regrettably, Reynolds is killed in the following battle, his body badly maimed.[3]
This event leaves Alice distraught and she leans heavily on Eleanor for support. Soon afterwards, the Bloodfrost Battle commences and Dicathen suffers an immense loss. The Castle, where Alice and Eleanor resides, is breached but they are evacuated to the Sanctuary before any harm can get to them.[4] This was initially Agrona's attempt to use Arthur's family as blackmail, though this plan fails thanks to Rinia's powers as a diviner.
After the events at Telmore, [5]Alice is left in distress once again but is forced to try to settle into her new way of life to support her daughter. After many hardships, she is finally reunited with Arthur as he appears to save them from Taci in the Sanctuary.[6] Alice, along with the other refugees and the lances, travel to Vildorial and retake the city from the alacryans. Alice is given a new house to call home here, and the family use this as their new base of operations. After Arthur defeated Agrona, Alice, along with Eleanor, are taken to Epheotus. Here, Arthur is declared an asura and the Leywin Clan is formed.[7] The newly formed clan travel to the homes of the Eccleiah Clan[8] and Avignis Clan to introduce themselves and create bonds with the asura.[9]Appearance[]
Rather than a glamorous beauty, Arthur would better describe her as lovely, in a very kind and gentle sense, with distinct auburn hair and brown eyes. In fact, when Arthur looked at her as a baby, he couldn’t help, but notice her long eyelashes and perky nose that made him want to just cling to her. She just permeated this motherly feel.[10] As the war with Alacrya progresses, Alice grows more gaunt in her appearance due to the constant stress and worry over her children.
Personality[]
Though she holds the reins in her family and comes across as dominant and quick to anger, Alice is very kindhearted, gentle, and a warm person. She loves her family and would do anything to protect them.
Due to the fact that Arthur seemingly always comes home either bruised or injured, Alice worries about him constantly whenever he is out of the house.
Background[]
Alice worked at the Valden branch of the Adventurer’s Guild as a proctor for basic practical exams. On one fateful day, she met Reynolds and his jaw literally dropped the moment he saw her. Afterwards, he asked her out for dinner and that's when their story started.
Alice is one of the most talented people Reynolds has ever seen. Even as an Emitter, she’s exceptional. Back then, after she agreed to date him, she joined his party and they went on missions together. Her restorative powers were amazing in and of itself, but what shocked Reynolds the most was when she used an area of effect spell, which healed all allies inside. Back in the good old days before they had to settle down, they would go into the Beast Glades and hunt for mana beasts.[11]
Alice was previously traumatized, because she failed to rid Lensa, an previous member of the Twin Horns, of a poison that attacked her mana core and made her unable to use magic. This trauma worsened when Lensa went into a dungeon despite being unable to cultivate because she wanted to die an 'honorable death'. This trauma has made it diffucult for Alice to heal others, especially those close to her.[12]
Quotes[]
