Family[]
Otis Vayhur Wykes[]
Otis is Bairon's father. Based on their interactions, it can be assumed that their relationship is no different to Lucas's relationship with their father. The two are shown to have a low opinion of each other. Just like Lucas, Otis only sees Bairon as a tool to further the power of the Wykes family. He shows no respect for his son despite him becoming a Lance, claiming he only achieved the position due to his family. Bairon as well is not afraid to stand up to his father. After his family betrayed Dicathen, Bairon lost any love or repect he might have had for his father.
Lucas Wykes[]
Lucas is Bairon’s younger half-brother. Based on their interactions, it is apparent that they do not have a typical sibling relationship. While Lucas always shows arrogance and disrespect to those around him, Bairon seems to be the only person Lucas fears as he will tremble in Bairon’s presence. Bairon seems rather cold towards his younger brother as he looks down on his brother for his arrogance and cowardice. Bairon also has a low opinion of Lucas for relying on others to improve his power rather than actually try on his own. Despite their seemingly tense relationship, Bairon is still willing to protect his younger brother for the sake of their family and even seek revenge should any harm come to him. He was willing to kill Arthur, and would have succeeded if not for Olfred and Varay's intervention. However, he later realises that his anger was not about his brother's death but the insult to his family's name.
Lances[]
Alea Triscan[]
Alea is a fellow Lance of Dicathen who works alongside Bairon. They have a mutual respect for each other, and maintain a stable co-worker relationship. Alea admits she is envious of how powerful Bairon is compared to her and is even frightened of the young Lance at times.
Arthur Leywin[]
Arthur is the newest Lance, though their relationship was already well established before the two officially met. Initially they were archenemies but later became close comrades. They first meet at Xyrus Academy when he attacks Arthur after brutally killing Lucas Wykes, his brother. Bairon is enraged to see his brother dead and would have killed Arthur if not for the intervention of Olfred and Varay. Even after knowing that Lucas was a maniac and went too far, he still hated Arthur becuase of his pride and lineage as a Wykes. He would have abused Arthur and prevented him from his rights as a prisoner, if not for the intervention of Varay who agreed to all of Arthur's requests. Later, Arthur is detained until further notice. On the day of the sentencing, Bairon rudely escorts Arthur from his cell to the council and threatens him that he will do as much harm to his family as he did to his brother, whereupon Arthur taunts him for arguing with a child. To Bairon's fury, he tells Arthur that he will lose everything, whereupon Arthur taunts him that he is a mighty lance seeking revenge for his mad brother, which enrages Bairon even more. Bairon does not know that his threats are of no avail, since Arthur's family is protected by the elves and Arthur himself is supported by the Asuras. After Arthur's release by Windsom they did not meet for three years. When Arthur returns, they still have a strong animosity towards one another, but he acknowledges that they are valuable allies in the war. Bairon does not trust Arthur at all, which later proved critical at the battle of Etistin Bay. After Arthur's sacrifice in the battle against Nico and Cadell, he seemingly begins to regret the way he treated him while having to protect Arthur's sister Eleanor. When Arthur returns to save them from Taci, Bairon is in tears and embraces Arthur, much to Arthur's surprise. After the battle for Vildorial, Bairon apologizes to Arthur and admits that he no longer hates him for his brother's death and for everything else, which Arthur accepts and also admits that he went too far in killing Lucas since they have now become closer.
