Blaine Glayder was the King of Sapin, the kingdom mostly inhabited by humans. He is the husband of Priscilla Glayder and the father of both Curtis Glayder and Kathyln Glayder.
Appearance[]
Blaine Glayder was an elderly man with long, deep-red hair that was aged with streaks of grey. His back was ramrod straight with broad shoulders that took off years in his appearance. The man’s eyes were stern with harsh, sword-shaped eyebrows, giving him an undeniably eye-catching presence. He was wearing a red robe lined with white fur around the collar for the Tenth Anniversary event of the Helstea Auction House and had a cane that shined brighter than any silver. [2]
Personality[]
Upon his first appearance, Blaine comes across as a humble but regal king, openly friendly to all of his subjects regardless of their status. Blaine was shown to be disciplined and serious when the situation demanded it, such as reprimanding his royal mage Sebastian for trying to forcefully take a child's bond when he was on duty. When he believed his family to be in danger, Blaine was quick to draw his sword and defend them, openly challenging the perpetrator, showing a willingness to put his life on the line for his loved ones. As the Auction House Anniversary commenced, Blaine was shown to enjoy buying luxury and unique items, including beast cores, initially showing a desire to grow stronger as a mage. Towards the end of the event however, some of his negative aspects began to show. When Arthur refused to give his bond over to Blaine, he showed am irritation at the young boy for denying a king, unable to accept no for an answer. However he was not willing to kill the child over the bond and was beyond furious at Sebastian for his actions that he had him fired and banished from the capital. Blaine is very proud of his family's lineage. In his youth, Blaine was quite honorable as he desired peace and prosperity for not only his people but for all the races of Dicathen, even going as far as to stage a coup against his father to end the war against the elves. Blaine desired to be the greatest mage in all of Dicathen to make his ancestors proud. When he was revealed to only be subpar in power, Blaine grew envious of his own family for being more talented in magic than he was, though he did his best not to let his envy distract him from why he wanted power in the first place, he grew an inferiority complex towards those with greater power than him. Though he was willing to discard his people to save himself and his family he held nothing but shame and guilt over his actions as he let his desire for power fully take over his sense of honor, as he became exactly like his father, the man he swore he'd never become.
Background[]
Blaine Glayder desired to be the greatest mage in all of Dicathen to honor his ancestors. Blaine however had no talent as a mage as he barely managed to break through to the Dark Red stage of his mana core with the help of elixirs and beast cores. Despite having no capabilities, Blaine originally did not have the same desire for power as his tyrannical father the former king Glayder who wished to dominate the elven race in the Second War. Towards the end of the Second War, talks of peace were being held between the kingdoms to seemingly put an end to the war. This however was only a ploy by the former king who plotted to assassinate King Virion Eralith. Having had enough of his father's disgraceful actions, Blaine staged a coup de tat against his father, killing him. Now the new ruler of Sapin, Blaine officially ended the Second War and create a treaty between the nations of Sapin and Elenoir. Blaine would at some point marry his future Queen Priscilla Blayder and became the father of their children Curtis and Kathlyn.
Abilities & Skills[]
As the King of Sapin and a member of the Council of Dicathen, Blaine has the highest authority within his Kingdom and over his citizens. Blaine also possesses an abundance of wealth that he regularly spends on beast cores. During the the Tenth Anniversary event of the Helstea Auction House, Blaine Glayder mentioned that he possesses personal Templar Knights, aside from his Royal Knight Guards. [3] As a descendant of the Royal Glayder bloodline, he is also able to bestow the position of and have power over two Lances.
Augumentor: Blaine is an Augumentor mage, someone who can use magic within their bodies to enhance their attacks but is also able to shoot out magic after reaching a certain level. Unlike his predecessors and his children, Blaine has no talent as a mage, despite his aspirations to become one. He was barely about to achieve the Dark Red stage of his mana core with the help of several elixirs and beast cores, but has not been able to progress any further since.
Swordsmanship: Blaine is shown wielding a sword that he stores in his dimension ring. While he has no talent for magic, Blaine is implied to be a capable swordsman as he was willing to protect his children when he believed they were under attack.
