Season 4[]
Clive is the firstborn son of the prominent Graves family. At some point before the start of his second year as a student of Xyrus Academy, Clive was appointed as Vice President of the Student Council.
Clive was present for the opening ceremony in Xyrus Academy where he, along with Student Council President Tessia Eralith, gave an opening speech expressing her desire to see the students put aside their differences and cast aside the old ways of their previous generations while Clive informed the student body of the changes to the requirements to graduate from Xyrus Academy. With the opening ceremony concluded, Clive, along with Tessia and Secretary Lilith Helstea, discussed their itinerary. While they were walking however, they spotted two students in a dispute. While Clive recognized one of the boys as a noble named Nicolas Dreyl, he was not familiar with the second boy Arthur Leywin, deducing he was a commoner. Just as Nicolas drew his swords at Arthur, Tessia, Clive, and Lilia approached the crowd and stopped Nicolas from attacking Arthur. Clive scolded Nicolas over his actions, reminding him that drawing weapons against fellow students was prohibited, to which Nicolas tried to defend his actions by falsely claiming he was only trying to scare Arthur. While Clive originally wanted to let Nicolas off with a warning over his actions, Tessia refused as she scolded Nicolas over his inexcusable behavior and threatened him with the consequences of attacking students. Tessia promised Nicolas that his actions would be reported as the cowardly noble was forced to flee.
Clive then watched as Tessia and Arthur argued over the incident, all the while displeased with Arthur's attitude towards Tessia. As Arthur turned to leave, Clive stopped Arthur in his tracks, claiming he had no right to talk to the Student Council President in such a way. Tessia tried to stop Clive, but Clive refused to back down, even going as far as to insult Arthur's family over what he considered poor behavior. Infuriated, Arthur unleashed his wind magic to throw Clive into the air as he continued to walk away while Lilia helped Clive to his feet. Clive later went to Tessia's room to check on her, only for Tessia to turn him away, while also ridiculing him over what transpired. Clive could only walk away embarrassed as he could hear Tessia's muffled screaming from down the hall as he walked away.
School Days in Xyrus Academy[]
Later during his first day of school, Clive, along with Tessia, would see Arthur again during their class in Team-Fighting Mechanics I. Clive made his animosity for Arthur very clear by shooting daggers at him when their eyes met. To start the class off, the teacher Vanesy Glory organized a quick mock duel pitting the Diciplinary Committee member's Arthur, Claire, and Prince Curtis Glayder against Tessia, Clive, and a volunteer named Lucas Wykes. As the duel commenced, Clive spent the majority of the fight against Claire Bladeheart, using his bow and arrows to keep her at bay. The exercise ended shortly after however, when Arthur and Tessia were accidentally injured critically by Curtis.
Clive is not seen again until the Beast Glades Excursion where he is grouped with Tessia, Arthur, Lucas, and Roland Alderman. When discussing who should lead their group into the dungeon, Lucas proclaimed he was the obvious choice but was infuriated when everyone instead voted for Tessia. As the class entered the dungeon, Widow's Crypt, the teacher Vanesy cautiously examined their surroundings, surprised at the lack of mana beasts. The class was suddenly ambushed by a horde of Snarlers. Against the insistence of Vanesy, the class insisted in remaining and fighting off the mana beasts, to which Vanesy complied. Clive, along with Roland, focused on supporting Arthur while he acted as vanguard for their team. Despite eliminating a good portion of Snarlers, Vanesy realized the students were getting exhausted the longer their fights dragged out against the never ending mana beasts. Vanesy ordered the class to fall back and exited the dungeon. During the ensuing chaos the dungeon suffered a cave in and Clive was forced to fend off the incoming Snarlers as Arthur and Curtis cleared the path towards the exit.
