Cynthia Goodsky is the founder as well as headmaster of the prestigious Xyrus Academy. She is a former spy sent from Alacrya before defecting from her nation.

Appearance[]

Cynthia is a tall, elderly woman, having a height of 1.7 meters. She has gray hair and brown eyes. Her soft, facial feature gives her the image of a gentle grandmother. Cynthia presents herself gracefully in front of others. During Cynthia’s visit to the Helstea’s manor, she wore a conjurer’s hat, the size of a traffic cone, and an elegant robe with gold threadings. In the novel, her robe was navy blue, while violet in the webcomic. She carried a wand strapped to her robe. During Arthur’s time in Xyrus Academy, Cynthia wore a white circlet matching her white robe.

Personality[]

Cynthia exudes respect to others but also has a playful side. She enjoys teasing Arthur, especially on the topic of girls surrounding him. There are times when Cynthia feels intimidated by Arthur during one of their negotiations, more so than her interactions with the royals. Cynthia acts like a motherly mentor to Tessia, providing her with a strict training regime and scolding Arthur when he upsets Tessia. She has grown interested in Arthur and is curious about his future potential. She also deeply cares about Dicathen, willing to do everything in her power to protect the continent. Cynthia can become merciless as shown when she tortured and killed the Alacryan spies that she caught. There are hints from her past suggesting that she has lingering feelings for Virion.

Background[]

Cynthia was born in Alacrya and was sent to Dicathen as a spy, observing the state of affairs in Dicathen. As a spy, she had some knowledge of the general plan for Alacrya's attack on Dicathen; however, she was bound by a curse, preventing her from telling others about her knowledge of Alacrya. Cynthia was also an old acquaintance of Virion that dates back to when they had fought during the war between humans and elves. After the war ended, Virion and Cynthia discussed their future plans. At the time, Cynthia did not have any plans, other than doing her duties as a spy. Virion suggested that she became a teacher since he believed that she would be a great mentor to lead the future generation. Having grown to love her new home, Cynthia created Xyrus Academy to foster the growth of new mages and gain the influence to protect the continent of Dicathen. At some point, Cynthia encountered Avier in the Beast Glades, who took a liking to her and became her bond. From that point on, Cynthia spent her life eliminating the spies sent from Alacrya.
