Danton is the leader of a band of slave traders whom Arthur encounters in the Elshire Forest. He and his gang were responsible for kidnapping Princess Tessia Eralith. He is the secondary antagonist of Season 1.

Appearance[]

Webcomic appearance: Danton was tall, lean, and muscular with long black-silver hair and black eyes. His attire consisted of a fur coat tied with a red sash, gray pants and brown boots. He also had a noticeable scar from his upper lip to his left eye.

Personality[]

Befitting a typical slave trader, Danton was a greedy, amoral, and sinister man willing and capable of anything for financial gain. He had no qualms about kidnapping and enslaving people be it women or children, often referring to his victims as his spoils. Danton was quite malicious as he enjoyed torturing and abusing children. Danton can be described as a psychopath who enjoys his disgusting profession. This can be seen by the fact that he was delighted when he found Arthur as he saw him as nothing more than a huge sack of gold. He didn’t care about the fact that Arthur already killed two of his comrades.[1]

Season 1[]

Danton was the leader of a band of slave traders consisting of himself, George, Pinky, and Deuce. While hunting in the Elshire Forest, the gang of bandits came across and kidnapped an elf child named Tessia. Danton had Tessia gagged and tied up while beating her to keep her quiet. Unbeknownst to them they were witnessed by a human boy named Arthur who pursued the slave traders without detection.

While resting in his tent, Danton and George are alerted to the commotion outside their camp. When the two approach the camp they are quickly ambushed by the young boy Arthur who swiftly crippled George. Realizing that Arthur was in fact a mage, Danton tossed away his sword and used his own mana so as to neutralize him and sell Arthur.

Danton quickly gained the upper hand in their fight as he was far quicker than Arthur. Hoping to catch him off guard, Arthur quickly tossed a rock at Danton followed by his knife that he infused with mana. While the rock managed to hit Danton in the face he quickly grabbed the knife and severed Arthur’s mana connection to it. Danton then rushed at Arthur and swiftly subdued him with a kick to his stomach. Believing to have gained the upper hand, Danton grabbed Arthur by his ankle and lifted him up in victory. While he taunted Arthur for trying to fight them, Arthur took advantage of Danton’s lowered guard and gripped Danton’s arm. Arthur condensed his mana into Danton’s arm causing an explosion that burned Danton’s arm. While Danton screamed in agony he dropped Arthur who quickly retrieved his knife. Danton screamed at Arthur that he would kill him and sell his corpse, only for Arthur to sneak up from behind and pierce Danton in the back of his neck, killing him.

Abilities and Skills[]

Danton was the most skilled of his band of slave traders as he was strong enough to tame Deerhounds to help navigate the Elshire Forest. Even without mana Danton is quite fast as well as agile enough to dodge and catch incoming attacks.

Augmenter: Danton is an augmenter mage, someone who can use magic within their bodies to enhance their attacks, but also able to shoot out magic after reaching a certain level.[1] Danton does not seem to possess an elemental affinity and rely’s solely on mana strengthening which gives him a sense of overconfidence.

Swordsmanship: Danton was shown wielding a sword though he discards it quickly after he was faced with Arthur.

Quotes[]

“A kid mage, huh? Then we don’t want to accidentally kill the golden egg that just landed in front of us now do we? He might even fetch more than the little she-elf.”
