George is an Adventurer as well as an exam proctor for the Xyrus branch of the Adventurer's Guild. He is in charge of examining Augmenters.
Appearance[]
George was of average build with short black hair and a jagged scar that ran down his cheek.[1] George wears a full suit of armor with a black bodysuit.
Personality[]
George seems to be the blunt type, since he mercilessly described all of the bald examinee’s flaws during their duel without taking into consideration the bald examinee’s feelings. Nevertheless, his assessment was accurate and he at least showed some kind of consideration as he rated the bald examinee as an D-rank instead of an E-rank, which was the bald examinee’s actually skill level.[1]
Season 2[]
George is first seen examining a bald examinee. George has an apathetic expression during his fight with an bald examinee as the bald examinee’s skills were so bad that they were almost nonexistent. He didn’t even bother using the broadsword he had in his right hand as he continued weaving around his bald opponent’s brash attacks. Only when the bald examinee used his “Hell Smash” Attack, did he use his broadsword to take on the attack, disarming the bald examinee in the process. He then brutally judged the examinee on all his short comings, making the rookie examinee cry. While George would have normally put someone of the bald examinee's caliber in E-Class, he instead rated the bald examinee as an D-Rank adventurer due to his fire affinity while sarcastically congratulating him.
George was later called over by the assistant who informed him of another examinee's special conditions. George then called for the examinee Elijah Knight and announced that he would be instantly placed in B-Class. George later watched from the side as his fellow examiner Emily dueled another examinee named Lucas Wykes. When their duel was seemingly over, Lucas attacked Emily by engulfing her in fire. George swiftly intervened and dispelled Lucas's attack with his sword. Lucas is reprimanded for breaking regulation, despite Lucas’s infuriated claims that his exam wasn’t over and that he had everything under control. Emily announces that Lucas is qualified to be and placed under B-Class. George then called for the last examinee, Note, to come to the stage. Before George could even draw his weapon, he was overcome with fear and anxiety from the intense pressure that Note was emitting. The duel began shortly after as Note not only managed to overwhelm George in their fight, but was also able to leave a small cut on the experienced Adventurer's neck. Following his defeat, Kaspian Bladeheart called for the duel to stop as he announced his intentions of dueling Note himself.[1] George could only watch from the side as Kaspian and Note fought each other ferociously with their overwhelming power. George was even pushed back after Kaspian released his full power in his fight against Note. Kaspian then suddenly ended the duel while appointing Note with the rank of B-Class. With the last match concluded, George ordered for all examinee's to receive their guild cards from the receptionists.
George and Emily later barged into Kaspian's office flabbergasted that there were so many B-Rank Adventurers and that they were all children. Kaspian explained to the examiners the results of what transpired after the tournament between the three kingdoms, including how the ban on Dwarves and Elves becoming registered adventurers would be lifted and that there would representatives from both Darv and Elenoir registering in the future. Kaspian then pulled the files of all three appointed adventurers, disclosing their details. Of the three children, Kaspian admitted he was not sure who Note was, as he was not representing any noble family or the other two kingdoms, and was only curious as to who Jasmine Flamesworth was willing to sponsor. Hearing the name Flamesworth, George believes he may be a child of the Flamesworth House due to Note's aptitude in flame magic. Kaspian then asked both examiners to keep what he has disclosed to them secret until a public announcement was made.
Abilities and Skills[]
As an Examiner for the Adventurer's Guild, George is assigned to judge and determine if certain examinees were qualified to become an adventurer. As a mock duel examiner, George is in charge of testing an applicant's combat abilities and has the final say in what Rank they will be appointed. George is shown to give some leeway over certain applicants as he appointed a bald examinee as D-Rank for having a fire affinity despite his capabilities being more suitable for E-Rank. George is a very capable fighter, as a veteran adventurer. He is swift enough to dispel other mage's attacks as well as agile enough to not need to use his sword to defend himself.
Augmenter: George is an augmenter mage, someone who can use magic within their bodies to enhance their attacks, but also able to shoot out magic after reaching a certain level. While he has no elemental affinity, George is shown to strong enough without one as he is quite versatile without needing to rely on one. This attitude however is his biggest weakness as he will underestimate his opponents because of it, as seen in his short duel against Note.
Swordsmanship: George wields a broadsword in combat. He seems to be a decent swordsman, as he was powerful enough to dispel Lucas Wykes's attack with one sweep of his sword. George seems to rely on fast and quick maneuvering attacks, but is far inferior to Arthur Leywin.
Notes & Trivia[]
- The examinee that George is first seen dueling is an homage to the popular anime character Saitama from One Punch Man.
- In the webcomic, George's duel with Note is omitted and is instead replaced with George feeling too overwhelmed by Note before Kaspian steps in and declares he will duel Note himself.
- Given his fighting capabilities and position as an examiner, George's rank can be assumed to be at least B-Class, with his mana core being at Light Orange-Dark Yellow.
