Gideon is a brilliant artificer and formerly a professor at Xyrus Academy in Basics of Artificing. His inventions and scientific breakthroughs have made him recognized as one of, if not the most, genius inventors in all of Dicathen. He is often seen as the smartest person in the room and loves to make it known. That is until his encounter with Arthur Leywin who, after collaborating with Gideon, creates the steamship Dicatheous.

Appearance[]

When Arthur saw him for the first time, he described him as a very short, hunched man.

Gideon is usually spotted in his signature dirty lab coat and goggles hanging on his neck. His curly hair looks like it has been struck by lightning more than once, which complimented his beady eyes with dark bags under them. Gideon has has a pale complexion and a wrinkled forehead, which is accompanied by a mole between his seemingly permanent furrowed eyebrows.

Personality[]

Gideon is not very welcoming, often seen as grumpy towards others. He may come off as hot-tempered, often grumbling to himself. When attending parties, he immediately goes for alcoholic drinks. According to Arthur, Gideon is a reliable and trustworthy person despite his eccentric and quirky personality. As the most recognized artificer in Dicathen, Gideon has a deep fascination with the continent's technology, often engrossed in developing new ideas and making artifacts and other gadgets. Some may consider him insane for mostly working on hazardous projects that involve explosions and fire. After meeting Arthur, Gideon develops a fascination for him, seeing Arthur as an asset for the knowledge he holds. He acknowledges Arthur as the only person in Dicathen who is smarter than him.[1] Gideon often feels that he is not talking to a young child when speaking to Arthur.[2]

Background[]

Gideon is a renowned artificer, inventor, and researcher in the Kingdom of Sapin, responsible for most of the advanced inventions in the kingdom. As a result of his capabilities, Gideon became well acquainted with Vincent Helstea as well as the The Glayder family. In recent years, Gideon had begun working directly with the royal families of Dicathen as relations between the kingdoms began to improve. In that time, an artifact was found after an Adventurer shot down a mana beast that was capable of camouflage. While the mana beast was one that was never seen before, what caught their attention was a device attatched to the beast that was capable of recording footage, a device never before seen or created in Dicathen. Believing there to be another continent spying on them, Gideon was ordered to create a craft capable of crossing the ocean to explore the continent. Despite his many attempts, Gideon was unable to design a ship capable of such feets.
