Kezess Indrath is the leader of the Indrath Clan. He is the husband of Myre, father of Sylvia, and grandfather of Sylvie. He sends Aldir and Windsom to Dicathen for different purposes. He sends Aldir there to guide the Dicathens to victory against Alacrya, which is governed by the Vritra. On the other hand, he sends Windsom there to bring Arthur and Sylive back to Epheotus in order to train them for the upcoming war against Alacrya.
Later, he sends an Asuran squad with Aldir and Windsom at the lead to kill Agrona while his forces are distracted, but the attempt failed which resulted in a aggravated treaty that forced the Asuras in Epheotus to cut ties with Dicathen, which later cost them the war with Arthur and Sylvie presumed dead. In Sylvia's second message for Arthur, it was revealed that Kezess is the main catalyst for all the tragedies that happened so far (namely the Djinn's extermination, Agrona's madness and Elenoir's destruction).
He later orders Aldir to use the World Eater Technique to kill the Legacy. However, the attempt failed and left Elenoir in ruins instead. Later, he sends Taci to purge the remaining Dicathen’s resistance since they refused the use of Indrath's new artifacts. The main reason of their refusal stems from the fact that they learned the potential dangers of those artifacts and the truth about Elenoir's destruction. However, Taci wasn’t able to kill the remaining Dicathen’s as Arthur came to the rescue at the right moment and later kills him in the process.
After Arthur retakes Dicathen , He summons him and makes a deal regarding Aether knowledge in exchange for the protection of Alacrya and Dicathen as he tries to corner but fails to his anger. Later after Arthur defeats Agrona with the aspect of fate and erases the power of the legacy form the world causing an entire shockwave across Alacrya and Dicathen, He appears in the spot where Agrona lies on the ground completely defeated with Myre, Windsom and Charon as He captures Agrona and brings Arthur, Sylvie and Tessia with them effectively closing the rift and ending the long war for good.
Appearance[]
He had silvery cream-colored hair that was neither long nor short, and a calm, almost placid demeanor, according to Arthur. He was likewise attractive, but not exceptionally dazzling. When Arthur first encountered him, he was clad in a white robe and did not appear particularly muscular. His eyes were far too similar to Sylvia's for Arthur's comfort, but unlike Sylvia's, they were hard. Lord Indrath's eyes were purple as well, but the hues kept changing.
Personality[]
He seems to be a benevolent leader, who demands nothing less than the utmost respect from everyone. Moreover, he also respects his family as we can see not only over his protective behaviour regarding his daughter Sylvia, but by the fact that he also gave tutelage to Sylvie. Furthermore, when he learned about his daughters death, he was enraged to the point that he almost waged war with Agrona if the not for the rest of the Asura clans intervening for a treaty. However as of Volume 8, it is revealed that he is corrupted, hypocritical, power hungry, selfish and short sighted. Kezess is responsible for the extermination of the Djinn due to their refusal to give insight on Aether. He is also willing to build life of the lessers from ash as he ordered Aldir to destroy the Elven kingdom. In addition, he drove Agrona into madness when he exiled him and is also indirectly responsible for his only daughter's death. Because of his shortsightedness, he caused suffering for both the people in Alacrya and in Dicathen, as Alacryans became victims of Agrona's and the Vritra's experiments for generations. He is also the reason for the Dicathens getting dragged into a war and losing it, as he broke the treaty with Agrona, which ultimately lead to Dicathen’s loss. Countless innocent people died as a collateral damage from both sides.
As a side note, he also accuses Arthur of indirectly killing Sylvie despite also being responsible for her death as he let it happen, since he betrayed Agrona, then broke the treaty with him, which Arthur also later calls him out. Besides, his selfishness also caused grief for his fellow Asuras as he was responsible for removing the Ascleplus Clan from The Great Eight, losing his best friend Mordain in the process and the death of a young Pantheon warrior.
Background[]
He is responsible for forging the Great Eight, ending the warring eras, the genocide against the Djinn for their refusal to share insight on Aether and the catalyst for Agrona's madness when he exiled him. Kezess is also responsible for Mordains' exile.
Relationships[]
Myre:
She is his wife.
She is his daughter and he is overprotective of her to the point that he is enraged by her death, almost waging war in retaliation. Unbeknownst to him, Sylvia hates him for ruining Agrona's life (Sylvia's husband) and for the extermination of the Djinn race he and the other elders of the Indrath Clan committed, because of their envy regarding the djinns’s knowledge of aether.
She is his granddaughter whom he embraces, when he meets her for the first time. He also trained her personally afterwards. He was saddened by her death, though later learns that her soul is intact inside an egg.
He is the ancestor of Kezess.
He first heard about him from Windsom, then instructed him to bring him to Epheotus. When he met Arthur for the first time, he grudgingly tolerated him as a neccesary piece for the war against Agrona, before snatching Sylvie away from him, much to Arthur's anger. Later on, before departing for the war he advises Arthur to close his heart to Tessia. However, Arthur's hate toward him increases after Syliva's message to Arthur, revealing that her father is the main catalyst for many tragedies: the Djinn's extermination, Agrona's madness and the conflict between Dicathen and Alacrya. Arthur swears to take Agrona and Lord Indrath down and pay them back for all the misery they had caused. After Elenoir's destruction, Arthur's hatred toward Kezess intensifies even more, swearing that he will take him down no matter what. Later, Kezess discovers Arthur's survival through Aldir who was told by Seris and decides to give Arthur another chance. They meet again after retaking Estintin Bay. However, when they meet, neither party is happy to see each other as Kezess blames Arthur for the loss of the war and Sylvie's death, while Arthur hates Kezess for the atrocities he committed. Kezess's anger cools down when Arthur shows him the egg Sylvie turned into after her sacrifice to save Arthur and Kezess urges him to revive her to which Arthur says he will. Kezess knows Arthur has gained insight on Aether and they agree on an exchange where Kezess will help Arthur defeat Agrona to prevent the Asura-Vritra war from spilling to Dicathen and Alacrya. In return, Arthur gives him the insight into aether that he wants. When they begin, Kezess attempts to bind Arthur with Aether, but Arthur nullifies the spell and gives him only a fragement of the insight to force Kezess to keep his word. Then, Kezess tells Arthur to return to Dicathen, but mentioned that they are not finished to which Arthur smiles and responds that they are certainly not. It is clear once Agrona and the Vritra are dealt with, conflict will resume between both Kezess and Arthur.
Abilities & Skills[]
As a dragon, Kezess can control aether and use creation-type mana arts. His affinity for aether is unknown. Kezess has been shown using both Aevum and Spatium based aether arts.
Pure Mana Manipulation: As a dragon, Kezess can manipulate pure mana into different shapes, projectiles, weapons, and barriers.
Realmheart Physique: Aether Arts that greatly increases mana flow throughout the body, and allows for more efficient utilization of mana, thus considerably increasing spell strength and decreasing cast time. The user can perceive the four elements and aether, allowing them to detect disturbances and cancel or overload the opponent’s spells.
Static Void: It allows the user to freeze time for everything by using the aether around them; however, this does not apply to anyone who can use aether in the same way as them. While Static Void is active, frozen individuals or items cannot be interacted with, and the mana particles in the atomsphere are also frozen.
King Force: He can radiate an aura that cripples his opponent’s mental defense, however if his opponent is stong enough to counter it, they can resist his aura. Kezess mere aura was enough to suppress all of the Asura’s who attended his meeting after Taci’s death. Each asura in attendance was considered among the strongest of their clans.
Flight: He is capable of flight.
Quotes[]
- (To Arthur) "It's wisest to close your heart to the elf princess."
- (To Asura) "What we will do is send a message that Agrona cannot ignore. He has so far used the lessers as a shield, holding their lives hostage to protect his own. No longer. If the choice is between giving him the power to move against us or tearing down the world, then I will see it all burn."
