Personality[]

Mayner is a rather eccentric teacher, as he will always keep his students attention with his playful and rather humorous methods of teaching. Synopsis[]

Season 4[]

Once Arthur had returned from his leave of absence due to his injury, Mayner was quick to quiz Arthur over his knowledge of spell formations, and was delighted by his correct answer. Continuing with the lesson, Mayner pitched a hypothetical scenario where mages could read each others minds, claiming it could very well bring about the most powerful mages ever known. With that in mind, Mayner continued his lesson where he explained the reason for conjurers and augmenters to chant their spells is due not in part to help manifest the spell, but rather to influence a mage's reflective instincts in which the spell is engraved in the castors memory. To give a rather humorous example, Mayner proposes a scenario in which he were to confess his feelings to a woman who does not reciprocate his advances. The confession would be considered the incantation while the rejection could be seen as the manifestation of the spell due to already knowing the response.

Abilities & Skills[]

As a professor of Xyrus Academy, Mayner is considered a genius mage and educator. While his full capabilities as a mage are unknown, Mayner is considered very wise and dependable despite his rather humorous methods of teaching, as he will always leave his students not only well entertained, but also with a better understanding of casting spells without the need to rely on chanting and vocal casting. As professor of Spell Formations I, Mayner is in charge of the curriculum surrounding the basics of understanding spell formations and castings, from individual to group formations. Mayner's way of teaching is boisterous, but engaging, as regardless of how he teaches a topic, he will always leave his students enlightened.

Notes & Trivia[]

  • Given his position as a professor of Xyrus Academy, Mayner’s mana core level is speculated to be at least yellow stage.
