Evolution of Runes[]
Runes (also known as Spellforms[1]) were originally used by the Djinn to influence Aether to produce various effects. Nevertheless, Agrona adapted the runes into some kind of ritual called bestowement to grant magical spells to Alacryans.
Alacryan Runes[]
Types[]
There are 4 levels of Alacyran runes. The order of those runes are based on strength from the weakest to the strongest: Mark, Crest, Emblem and Regalia.
Rank | Runes |
---|---|
1 | Mark |
2 | Crest |
3 | Emblem |
4 | Regalia |

God Runes[]
Types[]
There are three types of Godrunes, which are derived from the 3 types of Aether.
Spatium[]
The Aether type that controls the existing space. This is the Aether that is the most seen throughout the total of the novel and webcomic. It’s power goes from teleportation up to folding space itself to the users will.
Some known power and abilities relating to the Spatium edict are:
God Step: An ability named by Arthur as an evolution to Burst step. After Arthur’s fight against The First Djinn Remnant in his mind, he managed to gain the inside necessary to unlock this Godrune. This Godrune gives the user the power to create a teleportation-like movement, which Arthur used to move through incredible distances within an instant.
Aevum[]
The Aether type that controls the time of the world. An artifact that is known to possess this kind of Aether is the mana box, the crystal that the djinn gave to Arthur as an extra reward.
Aroa’s Requiem: A God Rune that was contained inside the keystone that Arthur received from the The First Djinn Remnant. Aroa’s Requiem allows him to reverse time on inorganic objects. It appears that objects affected by aether can resist this ability, possibly due to Arthur’s lack of experience using it.
Vivum[]
Also known as the Aether of Existence, this Aether was previously thought to only control life. Later, in the novel, the Aether of Existence (Life) consists of actually four types or branches of Aether: Life, Death, Creation, and Destruction.
Rune of Destruction: An ability unlocked by Arthur, when trying to escape one of the four ancient ruins. By unlocking it, it manifests as Arthur's greater thought of destruction, fire. It generates amethyst-flames that devastate everything on its path. Unfortunately, it’s side effect is to make Arthur go insane. Moreover, it becomes worse every time he uses it.
It is actually possessed by Regis, who cannot control it to the fullest for the moment.

Golden Runes[]
The Golden Runes that manifest when some Dragon’s from the Indrath Clan use Realmheart might be a byproduct of their findings from the ancient mages after their genocide.[4] One point that speaks in favour of this theory is the fact that Arthur later manages to gain an Vivum type Godrune, which he dubs as Realmheart. This Godrune not only shares many similarities with his former integrate stage ability of his beast will, but allows him to do much more, which might be what the Dragons were trying to imitate with their Realmheart ability.
