Senyir Flamesworth is the oldest daughter of the Flamesworth Family. She is the second child of Trodius Flamesworth and his wife, as well as the older sister to Jasmine Flamesworth. During the war, she became a master blacksmith at the Wall.
After her father's betrayal, she left the Wall because of the shame,[1] but later returns once Dicathen is liberated by Arthur from Alacrya.[2]
Appearance[]
Senyir is a tall, muscular woman with bright red eyes and tan skin. Her hair is dark and of shoulder-lenght. She often has a stiff expression but softens up to her sister, Jasmine, at times.
Personality[]
Like the rest of her family, Senyir comes across as cold, stoic, indifferent, and detached. Beneath her cold exterior however, is a woman wise beyond her years. Unlike her family, Senyir has no desire for power and control, but rather the urge to create and understand. Senyir is not one for combat, unlike her older sibling Tristan, who is said to find respite and pleasure from conflict, something she finds disgust with. Senyir seemed to have been the only person to genuinely care for her family, as at times she is shown to be empathetic and compassionate. She was also shown to be encouraging and open minded as she supported Jasmine after her family shunned her for her wind affinity, and unlike her narrow-minded father, Senyir believes that wisdom and strength should not be limited to a person's personal bias and prejudices.
Background[]
Jasmine: Wind-Borne[]
Senyir was present with her mother and siblings at dinner as they waited for her father Trodius to arrive. As soon as Trodius arrived, he ordered for Jasmine to sit beside himself during dinner, much to everyone's surprise. Trodius announced to his family that he believed Jasmine had the potential to become the next heir due to her faster development compared to her siblings. The children all voice their judgements, but Trodius remains firm in his decision to nurture Jasmine. While the rest of her siblings eyed Jasmine with envy and resentment, Senyir did not.
As her sister continued to flourish in her training, Senyir would watch over Jasmine as her siblings grew in their resentment towards Jasmine. Senyir later walked in on Laurel and Azulia as they lashed out at Jasmine over best them in their spar and accusing her of mocking them. Senyir quickly stepped in, ordering the twin sisters to go to bed. Senyir approached Jasmine who was nervous over having to spar with Cassian the next day as their father had high expectations for Jasmine, to which Senyir reminded Jasmine to focus on the expectations she has for herself. Jasmine would eventually manifest her core, but unlike Senyir and the rest of her family, Jasmine was shown to have no affinity for fire magic, but rather wind magic. While the rest of her family shunned Jasmine for her wind attribute, Senyir was the only person to continue encouraging her.
Noticing her sister had been absent from dinner for the last week, Senyir brought Jasmine supper. Though Jasmine was upset by Senyir's disturbance, Senyir asked Jasmine to follow her to her secret study. Senyir shows Jasmine her collection of books not approved by the Flamesworth family, including books about wind magic. Senyir explained that unlike their intolerant family, Senyir believes it vital to study all aspects of mana, and not to limit oneself, otherwise humans will never be able to evolve and adapt. Senyir gifts the room to Jasmine so that she may continue to prosper as a mage, as despite her circumstances, she is still a Flamesworth, and ambition runs in her blood. Jasmine thanks her older sister to which Senyir gives Jasmine a sincere smile. As Jasmine continued to foster her power, Senyir forged Jasmine a pair of dual weilding daggers to compliment her fighting style and wind affinity.
Weeks later, the Flamesworth family hosted an annual dinner party which Senyir was forced to attend. To her and everyone else's surprise, her older brother Tristan Flamesworth joined them. Tristan then turned his attention towards his siblings, expressing how much he had missed them and how sad he was when Senyir hadn't written to him at all over the years. Senyir however, made it clear she was not too happy to see her older brother nor did she have any desire to communicate with him, sarcastically remarking how she thought Tristan would not respond to any letter she would send seeing as how he was so busy "maintaining peace". Tristan feigned sorrow at Senyir's rebuking, claiming she had always been small minded when it came to war and peace, but would have happily responded to her, unlike their parents. Their subtle dispute continued until Tristan revealed Jasmine's wind affinity to the public. Trodius tried to deny Jasmine's wind affinity, but Jasmine, overcome with anxiety, unleashed a gust of wind, revealing her status as a wind mage, much to everyone's surprise.
After witnessing Jasmine run from Trodius following an arguement, Senyir quickly followed after Jasmine, where she found her in the comfort of thier aunt Hester Flamesworth. After overhearing their conversation, where Hester gave Jasmine the reassurance she needed to embrace herself, Senyir followed Jasmine to the secret study, where Jasmine was reading over a map. Realizing Jasmine was planning to leave, Senyir advised her to head for a city further away from the Flamesworth's influence. Puzzled by her assistance, Senyir confides to Jasmine that she had often wondered what her life would have been like if she hadn't been born into the Flamesworth family, but while she cannot escape her fate as a Flamesworth, Jasmine can. Senyir gives Jasmine her crest token as it will help her find work outside of Trodius's interference. The sisters embrace each other before Jasmine leaves, wishing her good luck wherever she may go.
Abilities & Skills[]
As a member of the Flamesworth Family, Senyir is considered a well respected and highly capable mage. Senyir has access to not only her family's resources and wealth, but has her own private collection and resources she has obtained in secret, that are not affiliated with the Flamesworth's conservative values. She is quite knowledgeable when it comes to mana, having studied and researched all aspects of mana, rather than just her affinity. Senyir is said to be a master blacksmith and a vital part of the Wall. One of her earliest creations being the dual daggers she created for her sister Jasmine.
Fire Elemental: As a decendant of the Flamesworth family, Senyir has a single specialization in the attribute of fire. Though she is not much of a fighter, she is said to use her fire magic in her crafting and forging of weapons, indicating she has total control over her flames.
