Stannard Berwick is a member of Tessia Eralith’s team in the Trailblazer Division, along with Caria Rede and Darvus Clarell, in the war against the Alacryans.

Appearance

Stannard is described as blonde-haired with pale blue eyes. He looks frail and dainty but doesn't like it when people call him short or small. Darvus describes Stannard as “petite” and “someone who can pass off as a 10-years old“. He is self-conscious about his height and likes wearing boots and shoes to make himself look taller.

Personality

Like most soldiers in the war, Stannard yearns to go back home to feel the comfort of a nice bed and food, but he also fears what the battles the war will bring forth. Because of his humble background, Stannard is not comfortable around many other nobles, unlike his teammates. He is seen as a shy, kind-hearted young man, who also feels insecure about his weak physique and deformed mana core and sometimes feels an envy towards Caria, Darvus, and Tessia for their fighting skills. Stannard tends to hold in his emotions over Darvus’ snide remarks, only to explode and retort back when his patience runs out. He feels an infatuation for Tessia.

Background

Unlike is teammates, Stannard comes from a family of humble background, spending most of his time reading books and documentaries. Stannard joins the war against against Alacrya through Gideon’s recommendation to Virion, as Gideon guaranteed Stannard’s usefulness in the frontlines thanks to his unique deviant class fighting style. Stannard was recruited into the Trailblazer Division where he was placed in a squad composed of himself, Darvus Cladell, Caria Rede, and their team leader Tessia Eralith. As with the rest of his teammates, Stannard did not interact much with his squad as he had never associated with nobles before, even going as far as declaring Tessia a spoiled brat princess unfit for battle. Over time however, Stannard would come to see his squad as friends, and gain great respect and admiration for the elven princess he misjudged.

Abilities & Skills

Stannard is known to have mana deficiency, meaning his mana core cannot store as much mana as other mages. Because of this, Stannard has been underestimated one too many times by his opponents as well as his comrades. His fighting style however has been vouched for by Gideon Bastius, as only he can activate the spells in the prepared beast cores. Stannard also has some general knowledge over mana flow anatomy from reading books.

Conjurer: Stannard is a Conjurer mage, therefore someone who supplements their own mana core with mana from the outside world, to exert mana into their surroundings in the form of spells. To make up for her mana deficiency, Stannard uses beast cores to prepare spells for later use. He utilizes a crossbow, he calls “mana launcher,” to launch beast cores containing stored spells at enemies. The stored spells are either classified as low or high damage.

Dual Elemental: As a dual-elementalist, Stannard has a specialization in the attributes of Fire and Wind. While he cannot utilize his elemental attributes in the normal sense, he combines his elements through the use of storing his mana into beast cores and transforming them into spells that create explosive attacks. His abilities are categorized as a special deviant class.

• Propulsion Blast: Stannard's signature attack. Stannard fires a beast core containing flame and wind magic that causes a devastating explosion. The power is strong enough to vaporize a large horde of mana beasts.
• Hell's Prison: A stronger version of Propulsion Blast. Stannard uses a large beast core stored with a large amount of flame magic stored inside. Stannard launches a massive fireball at his opponent capable of incinerating anything in it's path. Stannard uses this technique to destroy the remaining mana beasts that were guarding the S-Class mutant's nest. The recoil of this attack is known to be heavy as Stannard was shown flying backwards from the force of it's launch.
