The First Djinn Remnant shows himself to Arthur shortly after his defeat at the hands of Cadell and Nico, when he completed his first unwilling ascent after he landed in the Relictombs.

Appearance[]

The first Djinn that Arthur found has a humanoid figure that stood at about six feet. His body was an opaque purple in color with short cropped hair of the same hue. The only parts darker were the tattoos of interlocking runes running over almost the entire surface of his body. It even ran up to his cheeks and forehead, leaving only his eyes, nose, mouth and chin bare.

Nevertheless, it turns out that this guy has already lost his physical form and what remains of him is stored within an aetheric remnant. In other words, his consciousness is stored in a crystal.

Personality[]

This Djinn is a true knowledge-seeker, going so far as to test Arthur once he reached the place where the crystal resided, even though that wasn’t necessary at all according to his own words. Yet, he ultimately tested Arthur to learn more about Arthur and satisfy his curiosity at the same time.

Background[]

The Djinn are believed to be entirely extinct, and what remains of them are a few consciousnesses stored in crystals. The Djinn were capable of storing their personalities, some of their power, memories, and physical appearances in purple crystals. This is the first remnant that Arthur Leywin has met in the Relictombs, which belongs to a knowledge-seeking Djinn.[1]

Abilities and Skills[]

Spellform: The runes covering his body are used to control the flow of aether.

Aether Spear: He can create an spear of Aether.

Force Nullification (Impact Negation): He is capable of completely nullifying the force of an physical attack just before it hits him, to the point, that when Arthur attacked his head with an dagger, it simply remained suspended just above his right ear. Nevertheless, his nullifying defense mechanism wasn’t automatic. The way his eyes followed the movement of the dagger to block the attack proved it.

Portals: He can create small portals, which he uses in front of him and his opponent to expand the range of his Aether Spear. Nevertheless, there was a slight delay between the fluctuation of aether and the spear emerging from the portal, which can be used to dodge his attack.

Quotes[]

  • (To Arthur): “You have an aether core, yet no spellforms to protect your body.”[1]
  • (To Arthur): “A human with the body of an asura—a dragon no less. What an unprecedented anomaly you are.”[1]
  • (To Regis): “You carry an edict for destruction, yet the knowledge remains in the asuran human’s mind.”[1]
  • (To Arthur): “I have waited a long time, yet what was brought to me is something even I didn’t know was possible.” [1]
  • (To Arthur): “The mind is a powerful tool that even asuras rarely exercise, choosing rather to hone their body and cores,” the crystal replied with a rather flippant tone. “But you seem to be different—in more than one sense.”[2]
  • (To Arthur): “To think that you would be able to receive a rune, and of the spatium edict no less,” the crystal continued. “Tell me. How are you able to control the flow of aether within your body with such precision? Is it the asura’s physique that aids you?”[2]
  • (To Arthur): “Fascinating! To think you were not only able to forge an aether core, but also forcefully temper your own internal conduits to control its output. Truly something that could only be done with the physique of an asura.”[2]
  • (To Arthur): While our people have mastered spellform in order to draw in and manipulate aether, true mastery and the organic appearance of godrunes—such as that branch of spatium you had just received—only come through major insight.”[2]
  • (To Arthur): “But aether is all around us and can work in ways that are impossible to imagine. The path of obtaining authority over aether is different for everyone, and yours—by far—is the most different.”
  • (To Regis): “Our people were limited by our physical bodies. Most of our struggles weren’t about gaining insights, but rather figuring out ways to make our fragile bodies handle the burden of aether.”

Notes & Trivia[]

This remnant of a Djinn harbors extreme hatred for the Indrath Clan.[2]
