She and fellow scythe, Melzri ,were sent to Dicathen, accompanied by a squad of Wraiths, to Vildorial. Their mission was twofold: to reclaim Darv and to either capture or eliminate Arthur Leywin. Despite initially having the upper hand and nearly achieving victory against the remaining lances and people, they ultimately lost the battle. To their astonishment, Arthur proved to be a formidable opponent, eliminating the Wraiths and leaving them with no choice but to retreat. Arthur instills a lot of fear into them, given his actions in incapacitating Nico and killing Cadell, as well as dealing with the Wraiths themselves. Despite being enemies, they couldn't help but show him respect by bowing to him before withdrawing.[1]

Later, Viessa, along with Melzri, Mawar, Cecilia, Nico and Draneeve go to Nirmala where they fight Arthur, Chul and Sylvie, believing them to have killed Sovereign Exeges. Despite outnumbering the dicathians, the battle has no clear winner, leaving Mawar, Draneeve, Chul and Arthur severely injured. Viessa fought Arthur who in the end manages to stab her with an aether blade. Viessa falls to the ground and dies in the arms of a furious Melzri.[2]

Appearance[]

Viessa's skin is as pale as her eyes are dark, and a sea of purple hair spilled down over her shoulders and back. She is taller than Seris, made even taller by the heeled leather boots she usually wore, their teal coloring matching the runes stitched into her fine white and gray battle robes. The black voids of her eyes were always unreadable, and emotion rarely interrupted the porcelain coldness of her face. In addition, she accessories her outfit with silvery cords from which pieces of vertebrae from her victims hang.[3]

Personality[]

Viessa always seems to keep her composure and be analytical, thus being able to make good decisions. She is ruthless and sadistic in battle as she enjoys playing with her opponents mind. She never shows any emotion on her face, making her difficult to read.[4]

Relationships[]

Melzri: Viessa's relationship with Melzri seems like one between an older and younger sister. The two are often seen together.

The Dead Three: Bilal, Bivran and Bivrae are all wards of Viessa. She took them in and trained them after they were orphaned.[5] Both Bilal and Bivrae end up becoming her retainers, though she shows no reaction to the deaths Bilal and Bivran, and Bivrae outlives her mentor.

Abilities & Skills[]

Illusion magic: Viessa can use her illusion magic to torture her enemies and foes, also making a large group of enemies attack the wrong person.[3]

Reanimation: She possesses the power to reanimate and strengthen corpses and deceased individuals, giving them the ability to move and attack her opponents.[3]

Regeneration: Wounds heal almost instantly when covered by black-purple flames.[3]

Void wind: Decay mana arts version of wind magic.[3]

Blood Iron: She can use blood iron to create powerful, sharp missile-like attacks.[6]

Flight: She can fly.

Quotes[]

  • (To Arthur) “Whatever the reason for your assault on our fellow Scythe, know that defeating him has earned you nothing from Sovereign Kiros or the High Sovereign, and gives you no right to claim Scythe Nico’s position, or to ask us for anything at all.[4]
  • (To Mawar) "Well done bringing this incrusion to our attention, Mawar."[6]
