Xyrus Academy is a famous and prestigious educational institution built on Xyrus City.

Description

Xyrus Academy is an institution hailed as the most exalted sanctuary for any of the would-be-mages privileged enough to have both the background and talent to enter. Though there are many other academies scattered throughout the Kingdom of Sapin, the difference between those second-rate schools and Xyrus was incomparable. Those who qualified to graduate from Xyrus academy were guaranteed a prosperous future and life. There were hailed as true elites, even among nobles. It was rumored that the top graduates could even become honored guards, instructors or military leaders for the Royal Family, for the King of the entire race of humans on this continent. Of course, some choose to go the more humble route and focused on research by joining one of the mage guilds. Cynthia Goodsky is the academy's director and stands at the helm of Xyrus Academy.

Background

Xyrus Academy traces its beginnings after the war between the humans and elves. Virion Eralith, a good friend of Cynthia Goodsky, suggests to the future director to become a teacher, imagining her in becoming the head of a prestigious school leading the next generation. Taking a liking to the floating city, Cynthia Goodsky founded Xyrus Academy in Xyrus City in hopes of making the greatest institution for mages.

The Student Council is a group of five students at Xyrus Academy who represents the institution. They have the responsibility of making important decisions for the school, along with Director Goodsky.

Disciplinary Committee

The Disciplinary Committee is a group of 8 of the strongest students at Xyrus Academy. They were put together by Director Goodsky. They are responsible for enforcing the rules on school grounds and keeping the students safe.

Attack on Xyrus Academy

Agrona had used Demon Leeches, a rare, intelligent and foul parasite native to Epheotus capable of possessing a host's body and strenghten the host's core to such a degree that it can be deadly to even an asura, to create a serum given by Draneeve to several perpertratiors of the attack on Xyrus Academy, including Lucas and Marcois. The purpose of the attack was to rid the academy of all elves and dwarves, as well as to scare the Dicathians into submission to the High Sovereign of Alacrya. Many people - students and teachers alike - lose their lives during the attack. The attack is cut short by Elijah, who regains his powers as Nico and attacks Draneeve before passing out. The latter then brings him through the portal back to Alacrya. As the remaining professors and the Disciplinary Committee charge to attack the alacryans, Arthur finally appears, killing Lucas. Of all the thirtyfive perpetratiors, only five were captured.

During the alacryan occupation of Dicathen, Xyrus Academy is headed by a mage called Ensel Speight. He is in charge of educating, or rather, brainwashing, younger mages. He poineered the "testers"-system used within the academy. Its purpose is for young dicathian mages to be tested for the alacryans to understand their magic, but in reality they mentally, and somtimes physically, torture the students by making the them practice casting their spells on living targets. As such, it was a common method of punishment, for offenders to be sent to the academy to be used as subjects for these testings.
